Crazy Love Prayer Challenge

Tonight I was reading a blog called A Place called Simplicity. A wonderful blog!!! If you have never read it before, you really should. Linny posted about her friends James and Cheremi who are in the midst of some serious trials in their adoption and she has asked people to fast and pray on Wednesday, for them and for others who are struggling with their adoptions. As some of you know we are trying to adopt from Oregon foster care (the only state our agency works in). Things are going slowly and I am dealing with extreme frustration. I know that adoption usually takes a long time and compared to many other families we have not been waiting that long, but I am struggling. Mainly because I am just not certain that we are in the program we are supposed to be in. I am not certain that this is where my child is. As I was chatting with a friend recently about my struggles she told me that when they received the first referral during the adoption of their daughter they were not at peace with it and could not move forward for that child. She told me she learned that "God will give you the peace that surpasses all understanding and this will let you know you are on the right path". I am NOT there. I am asking for prayer that we will feel peace while we wait if we are already on the right path or for guidance if we are not. Please pray and fast for the millions of orphans around the world who need families to step up and adopt them. Pray that more families will have their hearts softened to God's call to care for the orphaned children of this world. So that more children will be able to grow up knowing what it feels like to be truly loved. Also pray for the many, many families who are waiting to bring their children home, but for one reason or another are having a hard time completing their adoption. It is amazing what can happen when God's people band together for a cause. We can make a big difference for these children...... together.
